Health Payments Index

Private Healthcare Australia reviews the benefits paid to private insurance members and calculates the annual increase in payments over the past 12 months. This is called the health payments index and gives a snapshot of the benefits paid to members and the contribution of the private health industry to the wider health environment.

For the twelve months to May 2011 vs twelve months to May 2010, Private Healthcare Australia found that the annual increase in Private Health Insurance payments on behalf of members was +$613 Million, which is a +5.5 % increase.
