People on the Public Health System can’t get treatment now, so how hard will it be if this irresponsible government is going to make us pay more for Private Health Insurance. This Government is a joke, they couldn’t run a Chook Raffle.

I am looking for the figures for the latest update on benefits paid for 2010 – 2011.

Can you please tell me if these have been released?

    Thanks.

Are they mad, the public system cannot cope now, so where do they think the people who will have to forfeit their private health cover go now. It will just put more pressure on the public health system.

Can anyone tell me what the total health care costs are for the Australian population per year?
I wish to use that dollar figure in a paper I am preparing.
    Thanks

We pay a lot to take responsibility for our own health by paying Medical Insurance and still have to pay on top of that if we need any medical attention. Taking away the rebate or means testing it will only make more people opt to just pay the medicare levy. How is that helping the govt save money? The Govt policies so far haven’t saved us anything.

As a single pensioner trying to retain health insurance, I will find it impossible to manage if the rebate is removed. That will add one more person to the already over-stressed and over-stretched public health system. We should be making it easier for people to remain in the private health system, not force them out!
